Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Africa is a memorable, adventure – in beautiful ecosystems of Africa’s most spectacular rainforests of Bwindi (Uganda), Virunga (DR Congo) and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Kilimanjaro Safaris will take you deep into the rainforest in search of the mountain gorillas.

Trekking Mountain Gorillas takes between 1 to 8 hours, depends on where we will see the primates. The duration of the the trek will be successful when you spend 1-2 hours with the gorillas.

Day 1: VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

On arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to Volcanoes National park.The route is very spectacular  to  the Virunga Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2: GORILLA TRACKING ADVENTURE

Have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing before entering the forest. After spotting the gorillas you will spend enough time with them for  photos.Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3: DIAN FOSSEY HIKING.

After breakfast  head to Karisoke Research Centre to see where the famous primatologist The Late Dian Fossey was buried. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 4: TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE FOREST NATIONAL PARK.

After your breakfast, you will then drive to southern Rwanda to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge / Gisakura Guest House.

Day 5: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING.

Breakfast and drive to the park headquarters to be briefed about the information the chimps before entering the forest. You will encounter the chimps and many other primates like the black and white monkeys and various bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge / Gisakura Guest House.

Day 6: COLOBUS MONKEY TRACKING AND CANOPY WALK.

Take breakfast and head to the head quarters to be briefed and proceed to the forest with your guide to track the colobus monkeys. In the afternoon, we can go for a canopy walk adventure. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge / Gisakura Safari Lodge.

Day 7:  KIGALI CITY TOUR AND DEPARTURE.

Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to Kigali for a city tour. You will visit Murambi Memorial, Nyanza palace and Butare Museum enroute before connecting to your next destination.
